Sue Borchardt recently returned from an expedition to Nepal, Bhutan, and India where she photographed the sacred spaces of Buddhism and Hinduism. Please join Sue on July 9 at breathebooks for the first public display of her “illuminated” prints from this trip to the Himalayan Kingdoms. Each image is printed in her Baltimore studio and gilded by hand, creating lush works of art.

Sue will be joined by Lance David Bergerson who will be presenting a gallery show and sale of over 100 authentic Buddhist thangka paintings from Nepal. He will give a short lecture on the descriptions and meanings of the iconography and will answer all your questions.

Mark your calender! Saturday, December 10, will be *the* shopping day of the season for folks interested in one-of-a-kind gifts made by local artitst and designers.

The art Set, a group of Baltimore artists, will be selling unique holiday gifts at participating artist Jen McBrien’s home in Original Northwood on Saturday, December 10 from noon to 6 pm. We’ll have affordable, oh-so-nice, and not-to-be-found-anywhere-else gifts including hand-painted scarves, work-of-art throw pillows, jewelry, paintings, and things conceived and created since the writing of this post! So stop by and visit with the artists, shop, and enjoy a christmas cookie and cuppa something hot.
